Standing With Those Who Serve

When Those Who Serve Face Pay Delays, Their Children Shouldn’t Be Sidelined

When government shutdowns or pay interruptions strike, families of federal employees and military personnel are among the first affected.
At GameStreet Sports, we believe no child should have to sit out a season because of circumstances beyond their family’s control. Following the recent press briefing with Vice President J.D. Vance and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warning of the growing impact of shutdowns on public-service families, GameStreet Sports launched the Summer Sports Games Fund for Public Service Families — providing scholarships so kids of federal, military and public-sector employees can keep playing.

Each year, children across the U.S. look forward to sports seasons—baseball, soccer, basketball, track. But when a government shutdown or pay interruption occurs, the families of those who serve our country—from federal workers to military personnel—face sudden financial strain.
